Addie Scott

Mrs. Addie Mae Hyman Scott, the daughter of the late Latson Hyman and Addie Roberson Hyman Spears was born on May 9, 1942 in Florence County. On Friday, November 19, 2021 she was welcomed to His Master’s presence; an honor beyond our comprehension.
She educated in the Public Schools of Florence County.

She was employed at Electro Motive, The Carriage House, and Florence County School District One until her retirement.

At an early age, Addie joined Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina, was converted, and baptized in Jesus’ name under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Solomon Eaddy, Sr. She served as a faithful member of the Senior Choir and the Willing Workers. She also served on the Elizabeth Chapter No. 296 OES and was a dedicated member of the Sensational Hyman Singers all of her life.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph Lee Scott, Jr. on February 3, 1962 and to this union two daughters were born.

Addie was preceded in death by her parents, Latson Hyman and Addie Roberson Hyman Spears; a daughter, Dietrich L. Davis; numerous brothers and sisters; and a grandson, DeQuincy Poole.

Addie leaves to cherish her precious memories: a son, Kenneth (Mary) Hyman of Florence, South Carolina; a daughter, Beverly Scott of Florence, South Carolina; a son-in-law, William Davis of Florence, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Tasha, Ken, Jr., Shea, Dhedrick, Katherine, Kierra, Jaylin, and Brandon all of Florence, South Carolina; fifteen great grandchildren all of Florence, South Carolina; three great great-grandchildren all of Florence, South Carolina; three sisters, Ollie Williams, Letha Greene both of Florence, South Carolina, and Margaret Ashby of Cromwell, Connecticut; three brothers, Larry Spears and Robert Hyman both of Florence, South Carolina, and Eugene (Gertrude) Hyman of Guilford, Connecticut; three brothers-in-law, Willie (Katherine) Scott, Danny Ray (Josephine) Scott, and Ronald (Miriam) Scott all of Florence, South Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Mary Scott, Christina Scott, and Cora Hyman all of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Please keep the family of Addie Mae Hyman Scott in your thoughts and prayers.
