Mr. Archie Lee Gandy affectionately called “Fire Cracker” and/or “Willie Chewing Gum” was born August 21, 1960 to the late John Slayer and the late Mary A. Gandy in Darlington, South Carolina. He peacefully made his transition into eternal rest on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

He was employed with several entities and positions such as: Gerald’s Mobile Home Service, a Brick Mason, and a Painter.

Archie was a member of Saint Mary Holiness Church in Florence, South Carolina, where he played the drums.

He loved dancing, having fun, and making people laugh.

Archie was preceded in death by his father, John Slayer; his mother, Mary A. Gandy; his maternal grandparents, Willie Gandy and Elizabeth Gandy; a niece, Shanta Hamilton; two aunts, Emily Lee Sims and Jeanette Gandy; his fiancée, Goldbora “Goldie” Neomi Muldrow James. Who was the love of his life. They called themselves Romeo & Juliet for 35 glorious years. Goldie was the cream in Archie’s coffee. Archie loved himself some Goldie. He called her “My Boo” until her demise.

Archie leaves to cherish his precious memories: two daughters, Katrise (Miqueves) Jeffery and Dashell (Ryan) Gandy both of Florence, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Ja’Naya, Gerard, Ky’Asia, Shaquille, Miqueves, Jr., and Davontae all of Florence, South Carolina; three brothers, Sammie Lee (Mike) Hamilton of Darlington, South Carolina, Bay Bay (Jackie) Hamilton of Newport, Florida, and Henry Sims of Newport, Florida, who grew up in the home with him; a sister, Emma Sims of Hartsville, South Carolina, who was raised in the home; a father-in-law, Wilbur Muldrow, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Joan (Gary) Boyd of Florence, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Muldrow and Roy Muldrow both of Florence, South Carolina; a god daughter, Jasmine Witherspoon of Florence, South Carolina; five close friends, Gary Boyd, Casper Sanders, Ron Brown, Allen Grant, Jr., all of Florence, South Carolina, and Lawrence Black of Durham, North Carolina; his loved D Block Family all of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of nephews, to include a special nephew, Travis Rubin; nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Family visitation will be held at 1032 East Middleton Street, Florence, South Carolina. Due to COVID Restrictions - Mask ARE REQUIRED
