Benjamin Rich

Mr. Benjamin Franklin “Ben” “Frank” Rich was born in Florence, South Carolina on April 21, 1955 to the late Carli and Emma Williams Rich. He departed this life on Friday, December 3, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House.

Benjamin received his formal education in Florence County Public Schools. He was a 1975 graduate of McClenaghan High School.

“Ben” or “Frank” as he was affectionately called served in the United States Army, Navy and National Guard. Ben a committed veteran to our County received an Honorable Discharge.

After relocating to Florence, he gained employment at Rainwater Furniture Store and years later with The City of Florence.

Benjamin an avid fisherman will always be remembered for his unique smile and distinct laughter.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Carli and Emma Rich; two brothers, James and Charlie Williams; one sister, Margaret Williams; and a special friend, Grizzel “Chris” Thomas McFadden.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are: two sisters, Annie Mae Taylor and Carrie Gregg; one brother, Tyrone Rich; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
