Private Memorial service for Ms. Charameka Louise Wilson will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, March 27, 2020 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns St., Florence, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
Ms. Charameka Louise Wilson, a+ectionately called “Meka” was the daughter of Marjorie W. Stevenson and the step-daughter of the late James Fletcher Stevenson, was born on March 21, 1979. She departed this life on Monday, March 16, 2020, after an illness.
Meka was baptized and joined Antioch Baptist Church in Timmonsville, South Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Angelo Alexander.Meka attended Florence County Public Schools and was formerly employed with Bojangle’s Restaurant and Wal-Mart Garden Center.
Meka was an avid sport fan especially the “Dallas Cowboys”. Along with being a sports fan, she enjoyed traveling and spendingtime with family and friends. Everyone knew that Meka enjoyed laughing and a good laugh from her was guaranteed.
Meka was preceded in death by her father, Raynor Sirmans; her maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Wilson, Sr; a sister, Kadibria Abraham; one aunt; six uncles; and five first cousins.
Meka leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Marquise Zaire Wilson of Florence, South Carolina and Michael Gavins Jr., of Darlington, South Carolina; her mother, Marjorie W. Stevenson of Timmonsville, South Carolina; three brothers, Clemmie “Trey” (Belinda) Jones of Gulfport, Mississippi, Jarael I. McCall of Florence, South Carolina, and Corey J. “CJ” McCall of Florence, South Carolina; one sister, Iris McCall of Florence, South Carolina; ten aunts, Ruth Mae Goodman of Shiloh, South Carolina, Lula (Bobby) Lamar of Sumter, South Carolina, Dora (James) Rogers of Darlington, South Carolina, Novelena Marshall and Earnestine Wilson both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Sherby Hicks of Florence, South Carolina, Janice Kyles of Greenville, SouthCarolina, Vickie (Ellis) West of Florence, South Carolina, and Winnie Wilson of Lynchburg, South Carolina; a devoted parent to their children, Michael Gavin, Sr; two special friends, Angela Davisof Atlanta, Georgia and Letisha Issac of Darlington, South Carolina; eleven nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1323 Meander Dr., Timmonsville.
