Mr. Dan Louis Williams, Sr., son of the late Amos Williams, Sr. and Annie Mae Brown was born on February 28, 1940 in Darlington, South Carolina.
Dan affectionately called “Mr. Dan” by family and friends entered eternal rest on Monday, March 22, 2021.
Dan attended Darlington County Public Schools and was a proud 1959 graduate of Mayo High School.
Dan was a faithful member of Snow Hill Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina, where he served on the Trustee Board and Usher Board, until his health declined.
Dan was employed as a Brick Mason for years until he became a Forman with Myers Construction Company.
Dan shared marital bliss with Barbara J. Williams for fifty-five glorious years and this union was blessed with six children.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Williams; a son, Gregory Williams; his parent, Amos Williams, Sr. and Annie Mae Brown; a brother, Amos Williams, Jr.; a sister, Annie Mae Brown.
Dan leaves to cherish precious memories: three sons, Dan L. (Darlene) Williams, Jr. of Darlington, South Carolina, Isiah (Terrilyn) Williams, of Suffolk, Virginia, and Wesley (Rosa) Williams of Florence, South Carolina; two daughters, Debra R. Williams and Wanda L. Williams both of Florence, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Danzel L. Williams of Pamplico, South Carolina, Jamarius I. Williams of Portsmouth, Virginia, Janelle M. Williams of Suffolk, Virginia, and LaPorsha D. Williams of Greenville, South Carolina; one great grandchild, Myra A. Williams of Suffolk, Virginia; four sisters, Easter Lilly Williams of Long Island, New York, Sara Williams of Darlington, South Carolina, Virginia (Santee) Wilds of Darlington, South Carolina and Rosa Mae Gee of Florence, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hickson of Florence, South Carolina and Evangelist Ellen (James) McKay of Florence, South Carolina; five brothers-in-law, Reverend Harold (Beverly) Echols, Sam Brown, John Anthony, Willie Hickson, and Reverend George Ashley, Sr. all of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
