Mr. David S. Frierson was born on April 3, 1945 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Pearl Cain and raised by the late Mr. James & Mrs. Marie Frierson, whom he called Big Bud and Momma. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
David was educated in the Public School System of Florence, South Carolina and was a proud graduate Wilson High School Class of 1965. After which he enlisted in the Unites States Army. He served in the Vietnam War and upon serving his tenure in the military, David was honored with an Honorable Discharge.
He relocated to Florence, South Carolina and gained employment with Delta Mills, Incorporated formerly located in Pamplico, South Carolina, where he retired.
At an early age, David accepted Christ into his life was baptized and joined Olive Grove Baptist Church in Coward, South Carolina. He later joined New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Norman Gamble and served as a part of the Trustee Ministry.
David met and married the love of his life, Queen Esther Moody and was joined in marriage for more than 53 years. This union was blessed with four beautiful children.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Cain; his parents that raised him, Mr. James and Marie Frierson, whom he called Big Bud and Momma; three sisters, Estelle Morgan, Ruth Williams, and Grace Cain; four brothers, Karl P. “K.P.” Frierson, James Frierson, Phillip Frierson and Hayes Frierson; one sister, Mable Davis; two sisters-in-law, Mary Frierson and Ethel Frierson; one brother-in-law, James W. Barr.
David leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Queen Esther Moody Frierson; four children, Rick Mouzon (Sheila Morris) of Atlanta, Georgia, Tiffany (Kevin) Murray of Florence, South Carolina, Tyrone Frierson of Florence, South Carolina and Telia (Jonathan) Rivers of Charleston, South Carolina; sic grandchildren, Carisma Murray, Waylon Rivers, Rick Estes, Tyri’on Frierson, Raquel Clark and Devonte Dortch; three great grandchildren, King Estes, Lauren Estes and Nya Estes; four sisters, Magdalene Barr, Cynthia (Terry) Joseph, Sylvia (Melvin) Moyd and Sylvia (Peggy) Horn; three brothers, Harvey (Stephanie) Frierson, Ralph Cain, Jr. and Woodrow Frierson; four sisters-in-law, Geraldine Bostic, Sheila Moody, Dora Frierson and Louise Frierson; a goddaughter, Sharonda Smalls; special friends, Roy Thompson, Odell Spears, James Murphy, Kenneth Mosby, Willie Hines, Reverend Dr. Mack T. Hines, Jr., Reverend James Eagleton and Harry Wright; special cousins, Russel Skeeters, John Skeeters, and JC Hennix; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
