Dennis Ledwell

Mr. Dennis Ledwell was born on August 7, 1960, and was raised in Paterson, New Jersey. He was the oldest of two children, born to Ammie Lee Ledwell and the late Jesse Ledwell. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

He went to Wayne Vocational High School in Wayne, New Jersey and was a Class of 1979 graduate. Throughout his life, Dennis worked various jobs including FedEx, Ford, and Pilgrim’s. For those who knew Dennis, they knew him to be a loving, caring and ambitious person who never shied away from being honest. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends, and he loved to spend time playing the game of golf. Dennis loved golf.

Dennis will always be remembered for all the wisdom, given to everyone he met. He was a man who was always able to give a listening ear and an encouraging word. He was always willing to give to someone in need.

Dennis will always be remembered for his resilience, compassion, and selflessness. The level of respect he would show to others always made people feel welcome. 

We will always miss his contagious laughter, warm smile and a keen sense of humor. To know him was to love him and he will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Ledwell, a daughter, Savondria Shannon-Pack and two brothers, Jesse and Leonard.

Dennis Ledwell leaves to cherish his memories of love: his loving mother, Ammie Ledwell; three children, Jamar Parker, Avery Ledwell and Alexis Ledwell; a daughter-in-law, Kyra Ledwell; two nephews, Leonard Ledwell and Lyle Ledwell; a niece-in-law,, Jochebed Ledwell; two siblings, Avery Ledwell and Teresa Ledwell; a sister-in-law, Juliette Ledwell; five aunts and uncles, Freddy (Patricia) Burris, Mattie Burris, Harmon Spann, Jr., Maggie (Marion) McDonald, and Garam Isaac; and host of countless friends and family.
