Mr. Dereck Eldrick Daniels was born on October 28, 1969, in Florence County to Edward F. Daniels and the late Shirley Eaddy Daniels. He departed his life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

He was educated in the public schools of Florence. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina.

He worked at Francis Marion Patriot Place. He was a self-employed painter for a little while in Atlanta, Georgia with his brother, American Home Place in Florence, and Anthony Oliver. He also had numerous other occupations until his health declined.

He was a loving son, brother, father, husband, grandfather and a newly great-grandfather. He also was a dear friend to many. His hobbies were: traveling, cooking, grilling, and fixing cars. He was known by many as Papa, Whispers, Huey, Muttoo.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: his father, Edward (Carreather) Daniels of Florence, South Carolina; two daughters, Shante Chester and Shaunjanique Chester both of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sons, Jeremy Chester of Los Angeles, California, Montrel “Lil Dereck” Ducan of Columbia, South Carolina, KeShawn Ducan of Florence, South Carolina, and Raquan Eaddy of Charlotte, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Betty (Johnny) Perkins of Timmonsville, South Carolina, Glenda Eaddy of Fayetteville, North Carolina, a devoted sister, Frances (Arthur) Sumter, and Klistine Daniels both of Florence, South Carolina; four brothers, Michael (Fredia) Eaddy of Marietta, Georgia, Edward (Mertice) Daniels of Florence, South Carolina, Sammy (Sheila) Daniels of Powder Spring, Georgia, James (Maxine) Daniels of Effingham, South Carolina; one step brother, Gregory Moses of Florence, South Carolina; four adopted brothers, Antionio Hunter, Abraham McKinnon, Wesley Timmons all of Florence, South Carolina, and Les (Sharon) Tanner of Raleigh, North Carolina; ; one adopted sister, Silvia Charles of Florence, South Carolina; eight aunts; seven uncles; sixteen nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; a special devoted friend, Beverly (Chester) Daniels; a devoted comforting aunt, Polly (James) Sheppard of Summerville, South Carolina, a special niece, Nikki Eaddy Gordon of Arlington, Texas, and a best friend, Danny McLeod.
