On July 25, 2023, Mrs. Flora Mae James-Long got her Heavenly wings, the daughter of the late Naomi McFadden and the late William Hines. Mrs. Long was a strong believer in Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Long was born in Florence, South Carolina on January 19, 1949 and was a proud graduate of Wilson High School Tigers.
Mrs. Long, a member of Mill Branch African Methodist Episcopal Church, joined under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Larry Harris.
She was married to the late John Long.
She was employed by the Wilcox U. Buyck Family as a part of their family, for many years.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her, parents, Naomi McFadden and William Hines
She is survived by her only child, a son, Andre’ Antonio James; and four grandchildren, Brandon James, Jovan James, Autumn James and Andres A. James Diaz; a special cousin, Alice “Cherry” Bethea; a stepdaughter, Sherry McFadden; a step son, Alvin Barr; and Alvin’s wife, Kiesha Long; a stepdaughter, Sherry McFadden; a step son, Alvin Barr; and Alvin’s wife, Kiesha Long; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Lee Long, Anna P. Long and Joanne Long Belin, who was a big part of her life; a nephew, the Honorable Terry Alexander, who always was just a phone call away; a special niece, Janice Howard; Calvin Cade, a nephew, who was also a big part of her life, making sure every Sunday she had the meal of her choice; and a host of other relatives and friends.
