Frances M. Jones

Frances M. Jones, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully departed this life at the age of 96 on December 27th, 2024 at McLeod Hospice Center. 

Born on May 29th, 1928, in Florence SC., Frances was the cherished daughter of the late Leroy Madison and the Gladys Madison. She lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by strength. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ which was the cornerstone of her life. She will also be remembered for her fiery spirit. 

Frances dedicated her life to nurturing her family, including foster parenting children from displaced homes for many years. 

Throughout her life, Frances was a woman of deep faith, she had an unwavering sense of determination and lived with a sense of finding beauty in the simplest moments. Her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. 

Frances was preceded in death by (her beloved husband) Clarence Jones, Jr., (parents) Leroy and Gladys Madison, (sons) Norman Williams, Jr. and Harry Lee Jones, (sister) Lucille Madison. 

She leaves to cherish her fond memories to Julia AJ Adams, Joseph Leroy Jones, Claressa Wilson and Clarence (Nazzie) Jones III, a doting grandmother of Dr. Chanda (Troy) Robinson, Ms. Kimberly Williams, Joseph Jones, LaCarte’ D. Wilson, Lauren N. Adams, Torrence E. Adams, Kymanie (Malik) Chung Jones, Chauncey A. Jones, Lyela S. Jones and a proud great-grandmother of 12 and many other family members and friends whose lives were touched by her. Though she is no longer with us, Frances’s love and wisdom will continue to guide and inspire us all. May she rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
