Mr. Gowndell “Bootsy” Cades was born January 19, 1975 in Florence County, South Carolina, to the late Deaconess Carolyn Williams Brunson and the late Robert Hilton. He departed his life on Monday, March 28, 2022.
Gowndell attended Florence County Public Schools.
Gowndell was raised in the East Florence Community, where he was given the nicknames “Bootsy” and “Black.” Bootsy didn’t mind helping anyone. He would give you the shirt off his back.
Gowndell was preceded in death by his parents, Deaconess Carolyn Williams Brunson and Robert Hilton; his maternal great grandmother, Emma Fields Williams; his maternal grandmother, Emma Lee Williams Barcus; an uncle, Tommy Williams; and his paternal grandfather, John Henry Hilton, Sr.
Bootsy leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories: his paternal grandmother, Virginia Hilton; a brother, Jonathan Cades; a sister, Chiquita Robinson; a special friend, T’wana J. Richardson; four uncles to include two special uncles, Benjamin Williams and Timothy (Virginia) Gibson; six aunts to include one special aunt who helped raise him, Patricia Robinson (Thomas Jupiter); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
