We, the family of Mr. Ivory Lee Wilson, Sr., take this time to thank you as we Celebrate and Pay Tribute to his life today. He was born November 8th, 1945, to the late Mr. Frank and Mrs. Orille Wilson and departed this earthly life on Monday, May 20th, 2024 in Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Ivory was educated in Marion County, where he obtained his General Educational Development (GED). He later moved to Virginia where he worked at the Ship Yard and owned a Lawn Service.
In 1964 Mr. Ivory married the love of his life, Elizabeth Reaves, and to this union was blessed with three sons, Ivory, Jr., Tom and Eddie.
In 1967, the Wilson family moved to Florida where he worked at Florida’s Natural (Citrus World). They later joined Saint Thomas Holiness Church of the Living God Upon the Rock in Lake Wales, Florida, where he served as Chairman Deacon, Evangelist and Assistant Pastor. He opened his business, IL Wilson and Sons Harvesting and Hauling. During his time in Florida, he invested in Real Estate. He became the owner of Tines Rental and Wilson Heights Inc. Then they moved to New Jersey where they owned and operated Wilson Produce. Their final move was back home to Mullins, South Carolina where he established Wilson Farms.
Mr. Ivory was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Frank and Mrs. Orilee Wilson; a son, Tom Franklin Wilson; a nephew, Roscoe Wilson, III, whom he helped raise; seven brothers and sisters; and five brothers and sisters-in-law.
Mr. Ivory leaves to cherish memories: a loving virtuous wife, Elizabeth Reaves Wilson; two sons, Ivory L. (Nerida) Wilson, Jr. of Winter Haven, Florida and Eddie F. (Christina) Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Addison, Iris (Rasheed), Jazmine (Brian), and Ivey; three great grandchildren, Rasheed, Jr., Ryan and Nellie; two nieces that he helped raise, Sherry Wilson and Terry Wilson Sims; four sisters, Maebelle Bryant of Tabor City, North Carolina, Leila Gerald of Egg Harbor, New Jersey, Loretta Davis of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Evelyn Roberts of Latta, South Carolina; two brothers, Roscoe Wilson of Mullins, South Carolina and Larry (Rosena) Wilson of Green Sea, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Odessa Graves and Mable (Max) Campbell; one brother-in-law, Early Reaves; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends of whom words cannot express our gratitude towards.
