Funeral service for Mr. James “James Boy” Fleming will be conducted 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Mill Branch AME Church, 1917 N. Old River Rd., Pamplico. Intermentwill follow in the Church Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
James “James Boy” Fleming, son of the late Booker T. and Lucille Fleming, was born on August 10, 1929 in Florence County. He departed this life on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his home, afer an illness.
He attended Florence County Public Schools and was a member of Mill Branch African Methodist Episcopal Church in Pamplico, South Carolina, where he was a faithful member and servant, until his health declined.
Mr. Fleming was joined in holy matrimony to the late Leola Brown Fleming and to this union four children were born and one child was adopted into the family.
Mr. Fleming was retired from Marsh Lumber Company located in Pamplico, South Carolina and was a formerly employed with B & C Fuel Company. He was also a Parking Attendant at Mill Branch African Methodist until he retired his post.
Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his wife Leola Brown Fleming; his parents; a daughter, Nadine Fleming Davis; two sisters, Ola Mae Burch and Gwendolyn Fleming; and one brother, Benjamin Fleming.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Mae (Walter) Bailey of the home; two sons, James Lee (Eleanora) Fleming of Coward, South Carolina and Tyron Fleming of Pamplico, South Carolina: an adopted son, Scott (Julie) Bostick of Greenville, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Rena Mae Graham and Betty Wells both of Pamplico, South Carolina; a son-in-law, John Robert Davis of Pamplico, South Carolina; a special friend, Ms. Matte Woodberry of Johnsonville, South Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1019 Boling Rd., Pamplico.
