James McCoy

James Benard McCoy was born on September 26, 1960 to Rosena Miller and to the late Robert Lewis McCoy. He departed this early life on Monday, December 27, 2021 after an illness.

James was affectionately called “JB” was always known as an affectionate man. He loved to having a wonderful conversation with everyone that he knew or came encounter with. He always had a smiling face whenever you would see him. He enjoyed playing and listening to his gospel music on his radio.

“JB” enjoyed drinking a nice cup of coffee while watching his television game shows early in the morning. He had a laughter and smile that could just light up a room.

“JB” was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who will be greatly missed..

He was preceded in death by an aunt, Janie Smith, great aunt, Caroline Simms and uncle, John Henry Smith.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories his mother Rosena Miller; sisters, Katie Mouzon and Bessie McCoy all of the home; step-father Levern Jackson of Darlington, SC; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Willie) Smith, Jr. of Hartsville, SC, Yassie (Terrence) McCoy of Bishopville, SC, Jermell (LaKenhia) McCoy of Hartsville, SC; several great nieces and nephews; special cousin, Tommy Smith Jr. of Hartsville, SC; special aunt, Mary (Leroy) Thomas of Anderson, SC; and other relatives and friends.
