Private Funeral Service for Mrs. Janie Mae Shannon will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, April 26, 2020 at J.O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 South Johns Street, Florence. Interment will follow 11:00 AM Monday, April 27, 2020 at Florence National Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Mrs. Janie Mae Shannon, the daughter of the late Henry Cabbagestalk and Linda Marie Dixon both of Sumter, South Carolina was born August 15, 1948. She was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. Janie Mae received the greatest grace of eternal peace, where there is no sadness or tears.

Janie Mae was united in marriage to the late Carroll Nelson Shannon.

Janie Mae was a faithful member of Majority Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended until the decline of her health.

Janie Mae was employed as a tireless housekeeper and caretaker.

Janie Mae was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and her husband of 21 years.

Janie Mae‘s precious memories, beautiful smile, gracious considerate expressions of love will always be remembered and cherished by: a daughter, Betty Cabbagestalk of Florence, South Carolina; two sons, Stanley Cabbagestalk of Florence, South Carolina and Dennis Cabbagestalk of Elizabeth, New Jersey; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends..
