Mrs. Jessie Mae Eaddy was born on March 1, 1939 in Coward, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late James Eaddy and Eliza Brown Eaddy. She passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Jessie was affectionately known as Mae Mae or Estah. She was known for making her famous homemade banana pudding and keeping the family grounded.
Mrs. Jessie was reared in South Carolina and attended South Carolina Public Schools. At the age of 17, she married Willie James Eaddy and moved to New York City. This union was blessed with five children, Rickey Lamont Eaddy, Sylvia Elizabeth Eaddy, Alfred Demorris Eaddy Sr, Lawrence McShall Eaddy and Carol Nadine (Steven) Burch. She returned to Florence, South Carolina in the early 90's and remained until her passing.
Mrs. Jessie was preceded in death by her father, James Eaddy; her mother, Eliza Brown Eaddy; her loving husband, Willie James Eaddy, two beloved sons, Rickey Lamont Eaddy and Alfred Demorris Eaddy Sr.; two sisters, Lula Joe Williamson and Lucille Lopez; and two brothers, James Eaddy and Otis Eaddy.
Mrs. Jessie leaves to cherish her loving memories: three children, Sylvia Eaddy, Lawrence Eaddy and Carol (Bernard) Burch; eighteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Eaddy; a daughter-in-law, Lula Ann Eaddy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
