Johnnie Waiters

Mr. Johnnie Walters, son of the late Mr. Archie Waiters, Sr. and Mrs. Catherine Gregg Waiters was born in Florence County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Waiters was employed by Koppers Inc. and retired after 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Waiters, Sr., and Catherine Gregg Waiters; one son, Johnnie Otis Waiters; one daughter, Carolyn (Pete) Douglas; four brothers, Archie Waiters, Jr., Billy Waiters, Brainger “Sonny” Waiters, and General Lee Waiters; and one sister, Irene Brockington.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are: his wife, Janice Hunter Waiters of Marion, South Carolina; two sons, Kennethon Bernard Waiters of Marion, South Carolina and Craig J. (Jamie D.) Waiters of Darlington, South Carolina; eight daughters, Nancy (John) Neal of Saint Stephens, South Carolina, Doris (Calvin) Addison, Yulinda (Nathaniel) Charles, Elaine Waiters, Kimberly Waiters, Cathoshia Waiters, Victoria Waiters, LaQuinta Waiters all of Florence, South Carolina, and Lisa Chamberlain of Atlanta, Georgia; thirty-six grandchildren; seventy great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Otis (Margaret) Waiters, Clifton Waiters, Richard (Joanne) Waiters, and Ronald Waiters all of Florence, South Carolina; one sister, Annie Lee Robinson of Florence, South Carolina; two aunts, Doshias Waiters and  Ruby Lee Waiters both of Florence, South Carolina; five sisters-in-law; and a host of loving nephews, nieces, other relatives, and dear friends.
