Mrs. Joyce Carter Cooper, the daughter of the late AJ and Maggie Carter was born December 4, 1946 in Effingham, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 7, 2022 she entered into eternal rest with her family by her bedside.
Joyce was educated in Florence County Public Schools. She was employed with several manufacturing companies.
Joyce was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church in Coward, South Carolina and attended Salem United Methodist Church in the Claussen Community with her husband.
Joyce was joined in marriage to Sammie Cooper, Jr and this union was blessed with four children.
She was a creative, classy, fashionable, loving, caring, and God-fearing woman. Please don’t forget, she loved to sew. Joyce was truly loved by all.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, AJ and Maggie Carter; a son, Dan David Cooper; a sister, Rosie Wilson; a son-in-law, Adrain Caldwell; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Carter.
Left to cherish her love and precious memories are her husband, Sammie Cooper, Jr. of 52 years of marriage; one daughter, Erica Caldwell of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sons, Eric Cooper of Effingham, South Carolina and Demetris (Chastity) Cooper of Florence, South Carolina; two sisters, Mildred Jenkins of Newport News, Virginia and Thomasena (George) Thomas of Effingham, South Carolina; four brothers, Leon Carter, Robert “Jimmy” (Gladys) Carter, Marion “Glen” Carter, and Kenneth “Ricky” (Laura) Carter; all of Effingham, South Carolina; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, family, and friends.
