Graveside service for Mr. Kalvin Legett will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Old Neck Cemetery (Brittons Neck Cemetery) in Marion County, SC. Interment will follow directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
Mr. Kalvin Legett was born on September 13, 1940 to the late Orange Legett, Sr. and Leaner Scott. He passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020.
Kalvin moved from South Carolina to New York City in 1958 where he met his future wife Patricia Ann “Pat” Williams. On February 16, 1962, Kalvin and Pat married. Kalvin and Pat were married for 49 years before Pat passed away in November of 2011. They had five children.
Kalvin was a bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority for 20 years before he retired in 1990 and moved back home to South Carolina where he resided in Florence, South Carolina.
Kalvin was preceded in death by his parents, Orange Legett, Sr. and Leaner Scott; a daughter, Cantrice; one brother, Orange Jr; and two sisters, Gladys and Elizabeth.
Kalvin leaves behind many who loved him dearly: including his four children, Vanessa, Carol, Alisha and Robert; eight grandchildren, Derek, Vanessa, Caleaf, Andy, Makayla, Montana, Aaliyah, and Bane; one great granddaughter, Selena; two brothers, Lester and Alfred; and one sister, Lucinda; an aunt, Elease; and host of other relatives; and friends.
