Graveside Service for Mrs. Kristie Benjamin will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 561-573 Campbell Street, Hartsville, South Carolina. Interment will follow, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
Mrs. Kristie Latonya Benjamin, the daughter of the late Leroy Bradford and Bettie Jean Bradford was born November 16, 1974 in Darlington, County. She departed this life Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Kristie attended the Public Schools of Hartsville. She later furthered her education and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Because of her ambitions, in 2007, she gained employment with Lambert Benefits and Service as a Licensed Tax Prepare and was employed for more than 40 years.
Kristie love the Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Greater Commission Deliverance Baptist Church of Hartsville, South Carolina, where she was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Peterson on July 9, 2017.
Kristie was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Benjamin and this union was blessed to have gained seven children.
Kristie loved people and was always trying to lend a helping hand wherever was needed. Because of her kind, loyal and dependable spirit, many family and friends came to her for aid, when they were in need. She will be remembered for her great cooking skills.
Kristie was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Bradford; her brother, Eric Jermaine Bradford; and her grandmother, Ophelia Lumpkin Cabbastalk.
Kristie leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Thomas Benjamin of the home; seven loving children and stepchildren, Deshaun (Neak) Bradford, Kyiesha Jackson, Daquis Jackson all of Hartsville, South Carolina, Thomas Benjamin, Jr. and Shameer Benjamin both of Darlington, South Carolina, Shinita Grant of Society Hill, South Carolina, and Jameran Benjamin of Chesterfield, South Carolina; a grandson, Deshaun Bradford, Jr.; her mother, Bettie Jean Bradford of Hartsville, South Carolina; her grandmother, Almeta Johnson of Hartsville, South Carolina; two brothers, D’Angelo Enoch (Melissa Brown) and Marquis Bradford both of Hartsville, South Carolina; her mother-in-law, Doris Swaby of Bronx, New York; a special uncle, Michael (Maxine) Ennis of Alexandria, Virginia; a great aunt, Mammie Lee Cooks of Sumter, South Carolina; two special sisters, Vallarie Jacobs and Charlene Jackson both of Hartsville, South Carolina; three brother’s-in-law, Joshlyn (Tasha) Swaby of Clio, South Carolina, Anthony Swaby of Society Hill, South Carolina, and Clayton Chapman of Darlington, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Undrayica Goodson of Darlington, South Carolina, Shanda Wingate of Cheraw, South Carolina, Neressa Swaby of Bronx, New York, and Jackie (Frederick) Graham of Darlington, South Carolina; and a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.
Family visitation will be held 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Mount Olive Word of Life Church, 812 South Sixth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina.
