Funeral service for Mr. Leroy “K.T.” Cade, Sr. will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Salem United Methodist Church, 5814 Old River Rd., Florence. Interment will be in the church cemetery directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC. Mr. Leroy “K. T.” Cade, Sr. was born November 4, 1927 in Claussen, South Carolina to the late Charlie and Maude Brown Cade. On Monday, July 7, 2019, he was called home to be with his Lord and Savior and received the greatest grace of eternal peace, where there is no sadness. Mr. Cade confessed Christ at an early age, joined Salem United Methodist Church in Florence, South Carolina, and was baptized. He was a dedicated member and served faithfully with Salem United Methodist Men; on the Senior Choir; and the Gospel Choir. Mr. Cade was joined in marital bliss to the love of his life, the late Rosa Lee Grant Cade for seventy-two glorious years. To this union six wonderful children were born. Mr. Cade, who never met a stranger, was a God fearing praying man. He loved to talk and loved his one boy and five girls. He was an avid carpenter by trade. His life memories, smile, and willingness to help others will always be remembered. Mr. Cade was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Charlie Cade, Jr and James (Sun) Cade, Sr.; and four sisters, Amelia Benjamin, Christine Jenkins, Victoria James and Ruby Williams. Mr. Cade leaves to cherish his precious memories: a son, Leroy Cade, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina; five daughters, Evelina C. Reed of Florence, South Carolina, Joan (J.D.) Heath of Charlotte, North Carolina, Rose (James) Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary R. Cade and Patricia (Wallace) Hyman and both of Florence, South Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Wanda, Terry, Kimyatta, James, Marqua, James, Desi, Tiffany, Andrea, Sandra, Xerses and Twanna; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin Franklin Cade and Rudolph Cade both of Bronx, New York; one sister, Mary Lee Alexander of Florence, South Carolina; a special cousin, Cynthia A. Brown of Florence, South Carolina; a host of nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives; and friends. The family will receive friends at 304 S.
