The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.
Memorial Service for Mr. Leroy Cobb will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at J. O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 South Johns Street, Florence, South Carolina, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.
Mr. Leroy Cobb affectionately known as “Roy” and “Cobb” to his church family, was born on September 7, 1951, in Florence County. On Monday, February 1, 2021, he departed this earthly life and went from labour to rewards.
Roy was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1970. In his early years, Roy worked as a Brick Mason and was also an Assistant Store Manager in Augusta, Georgia. He worked buffing floors, until his health declined.
Cobb was a life-long member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Florence, South Carolina. He served in the church as a faithful member performing duties such as: Certified Lay Servant, Church Sexton, Choir Member, and enjoyed Liturgical Dancing. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; Adrian Cobb, Sr. and Robertha Cooper; a son, Anthony Muldrow; three brothers, Adrian Cobb, Jr., Sammie Cobb, and Sylvester Cobb; and one sister, Janice Cobb.
Mr. Leroy Cobb leaves to cherish his love and memories: a daughter, Tonya (Franklin) Marshall; a devoted loving sister, Annie Mae Ellerbe; a brother, Willie (Nancy) Cobb; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, extended church family, and friends.
