Mr. Luinthal Jackson Jr. was born on July 28, 1925 to the late Luinthal Jackson Sr. and late Alma Wines Jackson in Darlington County. He transitioned to his heavenly home on November 13, 2022.
“Dunk” as he was affectionally called joined the United States Army and while being there, he excelled in the following: American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal.
Luinthal was a member of Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Hartsville SC, where he enjoyed his church family.
He was retired from Avco Textron Lycoming, Stratford, CT. Twenty-seven (27) years on his job, never late, or missed a day, always kept his word.
He cherished his wife Vera Lee Jackson, devoted to his friends and associates, all while being a great provider for his family. He loved to have fun, but life was so meaningful to him from his Army days being a WWII tenure. He was a very skilled landscaper in the Green Hill community. A man of his caliber is a rare these days.
He enjoyed fishing, farming, building, repairing, driving and transporting people to go everywhere.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vera Lee Jackson; five brothers, James “Pee Wee” Jackson, Jerome “Duke” Wines, Hezekiah Jackson, Clynso Jackson, Roscoe Jackson; sisters, Ernestine Jackson; Mary “Mag”dalene Jackson.
Those left to cherish his precious memories are children, Tonya Jackson, Anthony Mohammad and Cornelius Jackson; grandchildren, Marcus Jackson, Dr. Tiffany Jackson and Ansel McKinney; one brother, Freddie Jackson; one sister, Ollie Jackson; daughter in-law, Jeanette Johnson-Jackson; loving cousin, Ollie Alsbrook; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
