MARSHALL ROY MARSH, JR. was born on 23 December 1950, in Buffalo, New York to Marshall Marsh, Sr. and the late Delores V. Marsh. Marshall gained his wings on 28 April 2024 in Florence, South Carolina. Marshall attended school in Buffalo, New York, graduating from Burgard High School and majored in Automotive Mechanic. He was a member of
Saint John Baptist Church in Buffalo, New York. He decided to enter the United States Army on 23 October 1970 and completed the Airborne Ranger Course. While in service Marshall was united in marriage to Janice E. Druitt in January 1971. He was a proud father to three sons, Demetrius, Andre and Marshall, IIl. After faithfully serving in the United States Army, he drove a Greyhound Bus for 10 years. Marshall later transitioned into the United States Navy on 23 January 1980, until he retired. As we all know, Marshall was a man of few words who never complained, and as a product of his religious upbringing was a deeply devoted child of God. There was nothing that he would not do to help those in need, even if it meant him going without so you could have. Marshall truly epitomized the meaning of “Service before Self”.
He was predeceased by a son, Marshall Marsh, III; his mother, Delores V. Marsh; and a sister, Pamela Marsh Byrd.
Marshall leaves to cherish his loving memories: two sons, Demetrius Davis and Andre Marsh; eight grandchildren; his father, Marshall Marsh, Sr.; a brother, Gregory R. (Kandi) Marsh; former wife, Janice Druitt; a brother-in-law, William Byrd; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
