“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73:26
Mrs. Narcessus Robinson Timmons, a beautiful young and stylish, eighty-seven-year-old loving woman passed away on, Saturday, October 14, 2023, at her home surrounded by her niece (Nicolia and nephew Charles). She was loved by all immediate family and her extended family in New York City.
“Aunt Freda” as she was affectionately called was born in the Clausen Community of Florence County, the daughter of the late Namon Robinson and Melvina Robinson. She always elaborated on her parents carrying the same last name and found it humorous. She was also a very talented Pianist who could literally hear a song and play it beautifully in repeat. As a youth she was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and a Wilson High School student. She migrated to New York as a teenager and did not look back.
On June 25th, 1985, she wed Mr. Waree Timmons of New York. This blessed wedding ceremony was performed by her brother-in-law, the late Reverend Dr. William James Madison, Sr., in New York City.
Aunt Freda was employed by Dame Belt and Bag Company, Incorporation on Eleventh Avenue in New York where she was a model and a team member of the advertising department. She worked with this company for many years and retired.
Aunt Freda was a long-standing member of New View Baptist Church in New York, New York where she was the Pianist and very active in the different ministries. She loved her church home dearly and they loved her just as much if not more.
“So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” John 16:22
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ella Robinson Madison and Josephine Robinson McWhite; and a brother, Namon Robinson. She was also preceded by a niece, Myrtle Alvarez-Beard; and two nephews, Willie James Madison, Jr. and Roger Dale Madison.
Aunt Freda was a caring woman who did not have any children but cherished the nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She leaves behind to celebrate her life…. Her full-time caregiver and niece, Nicolia (Charles) Connor; one sister, Frances McClain; two nephews, Tony Madison and Curtis McClain; two nieces, Linda (Edward) Williamson and Catherine Robinson; as well as a host of extended family members.
Please keep the family of Narcessus R. Timmons in your thoughts and prayers.
