Pearly Mae Taylor

d. November 20, 2023

Mrs. Pearly Mae Brown Taylor was born in Florence, South Carolina on February 28th, 1961 to the late Pearlie Lee Brown Sr. and to the late Evelena Isaiah Brown.

On November 20, 2023, she gained her wings like a dove and flew away to be at rest. She attended the public schools of Florence County. She was a hardworking woman and truly loved her family. At an early age, she received the Lord as her personal savior and was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. She enjoyed singing in the choir.

As an adult, she changed her membership and was baptized at Holy Comforter Reformed Episcopal Church in Moncks Corner, South Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Johnny Wilson. Just recently, she had a desire to renew her membership and worship experience there.

She was affectionately known as Pearl and was an extraordinary mother, daughter, sister, niece, friend, and grandmother and was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a love for working, fishing, helping people, going to church, and several other things as she enjoyed living her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, George Miller; one brother, Pearlie Lee Brown Jr.; four sisters, Stacey Brown, Mary Lee Brown, Shirley Brown, and Pearline Brown.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a special friend, David Gadsden; six children, Mary Ann Brown, Gilbert (Jermeka) Burgess, Leonard (Monique) Hazel Jr., Earl Hazel, Shanetta Miller, and Isaac (Ekaterina) Gaskins; three uncles, Preston Wheeler, Bobby (Barbara) Wheeler, and George (Barbara Henry) Wheeler; seven aunts, Marie Scott, Dorothy (David) Johnson, Elizabeth Wheeler, Matthew (James) Flowers, Betty Wheeler, Eva Wheeler, and Joyce Wheeler; twenty five grandchildren, Breanca Reeves, Willis Brown, Deshawn Brown, Carolyn Brown, Kayla Brown, Layla Brown, Jay’la Burgess, Gilbert Burgess Jr., Jasmine Burgess, Genevieve Hazel, Demarcus Hazel, Leilani Hazel, Sidney Hazel, Leonard Hazel III, Na-Dia Miller, Lukeya Johnson, Shamon Miller, Malaysia Miller, Niya Miller, and Jacob Hazel, Byron Sousa, Sofia Sousa, Isaac Gaskins Jr., and Journey Burgess; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.
