Graveside Service for Reverend Johnnie Lee King & Mrs. Mae Ola King will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Ousleydale Missionary Baptist Church, 3288 Cedar Ridge Road, Hartsville, South Carolina, where the Pastor is Reverend A. D. Robinson.
On August 8, 1947, Johnnie Lee King was born to the late Edna King Davis in McBee, South Carolina. Johnnie was educated in the Chesterfield County School System and graduated from Pine Forest High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he earned and received several distinctions and honors. He was joined in holy matrimony to Mae Ola Scott on June 4, 1967. To this union they were blessed with three children.
He leaves behind to mourn: a daughter, Dr. Athena M. King; a son, Vashon L. (Natasha Jackson) King; a granddaughter, Jasmine A. King; three grandsons, Jonathan Hough, Jaylen King, and Jayce King; a great-granddaughter, Kingsley Hough; two brothers, Joel (Gloria) Davis and Albert “Ted” (Sue) Davis; three sisters, Betty Sue Hines, Linda Hicklin, and Katie (Mike) Cuthberson; two aunts, Ethel Gaskins and Clara King; an uncle, Clyde “Shot” King; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other close relatives, friends, several “mentees” and extended church families.
Family Viewing will be held 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Friday, February 5, 2021 at Mount Olive Word of Life, 812 South Sixth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina.
