Mr. Sam Junior “Killer” Brown, the son of the late Rena Brown was born August 29, 1940 in Marlboro County. He passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Sam was a member of New Zion Baptist Church of Florence, South Carolina. He served as a Trustee and was active in other capacities of the church for many years.
Sam attended public schools in Marlboro County. He retired from L. H. Stokes, where he worked for several years. He was a member of Morning Light Lodge #430, where he served over 51 consecutive years. His greatest passion was working on lawnmowers and watching baseball on television. He also, loved being outdoors working in the yards.
Sam was a lovable passion and caring man who took time out to help people in need that surrounded him. When you were in his presence, he would always bring laughter and put a smile on your face. He was called “Killer” affectionately by his youngest daughter and he would smile and answer to it.
Sam was preceded in death by, his beloved wife, Josephine Brown; and two sons, Samuel T. Brown and Derry L. Brown. Although their presence is no longer with us, their spirits remains alive in the hearts and memories of those who loved them.
Sam leaves behind his two daughters, Olivia Brown and Deborah Brooks; as well as four sons, Aaron (Shanik) Brown, Leander Brown, William Dixon and Sam Williams; grandchildren; great grandchildren; a brother, Henry Brown; a sister, Henrietta Brown; a special friend, Miss Lizzie; and he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
