Ms. Temekia Denise Crawford, 49, of both Trenton, New Jersey, her city scene and Florence, South Carolina, her home was born November 10, 1974 to John Smith and the late Patricia Crawford Washington in Trenton, New Jersey. She passed away on May 4, 2024, after an intense battle with renal (kidney) failure, surrounded by her loved ones during her transitioning period.
Temekia spent a lot of her earlier years in Florence, South Carolina despite her birthplace.
Fascinatingly, after graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1994, she started her new journey in life as a mother on the north side of Trenton.
Temekia’s passion for Cosmetology and Culinary Art grew during her time in Jersey and she shared her tokens with any and everyone. She also discovered a fond affection for the develop mentally disabled of whom she worked alongside during her time with Eden Autism Services.
Temekia devoted her life to her family and close friends. She made it her mission to keep family ties intact and maintain friendships with unyielding, compassionate and unconditional love. She was a remarkable giver and supporter. She had an outshining light to those around her. She was a safe haven for those in need. She was an incredible mother. She will truly be missed.
Temekia was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Crawford Washington.
Temekia leaves to cherish her precious memories: a son, Unique Crawford; her father, John Smith; three siblings, Keneric Crawford, Laurence Kelsey and Qiana Kelsey; maternal grandmother, Margaret Brown; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
