Mrs. Thelma Louise Cooper Muldrow was born in Florence, South Carolina on February 19, 1955, to the late Robert Christopher Cooper, Sr. and the late Alberta Alexander Cooper. She departed this life on February 5, 2023, at the age of 67, while resting at home.

Thelma loved the Lord and devoted her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Cumberland United Methodist Church, where she served on the Communion Stewardess Board and the Hospitality Board.

Thelma was married to Leroy Muldrow, Jr. for 42 plus years and this union was blessed with seven children.

Thelma, a retired Claims Analyst and an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan was a 1972 graduate of Wilson High School. She was employed for 30 plus years with the South Carolina State Unemployment Office, where she worked as a Claims Analyst. She was also employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield for 10 plus years as a Claim Associate.

Due to her love of politics, Thelma devoted her time working with the Voter’s Registration Polls. She enjoyed working alongside her friend “Roc” cooking and serving others with the University of BBQ.

Thelma has met many people over the span of her life and always remembered those she built a lasting relationship with. Those who knew her, knew she had a beautiful spirit and personality.

Thelma was an overall kindhearted person that helped those she could help at any time. People gravitated to her no-nonsense attitude, and what she said, was always what she meant, and people loved that about her.

Thelma will be missed by her family, friends, and the community she served.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Christopher Cooper, Sr. and Alberta Alexander Cooper; a son, Stevie Muldrow; a brother, Robert Cooper, Jr.; and a sister, Mable Cooper.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Leroy Muldrow, Jr; seven children, Freddie (Tonya) Cooper, Toni (Kendall) Williams, Damon Muldrow, Yakea (Romel) Finkley, Gabriel Muldrow, Amy Jackson and a special daughter, Earnestine Cooper.

She also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, Ryan Trapp, Shakira Jacobs, Alicia Jacobs, Kierstyn Krishelle Muldrow, Kyla Veronica Finkley, Javior Ramil Finkley, Jr., Michael Cooper, Kendall Williams, III, Kensley Mikaela Williams, Dahlia Monae Muldrow, Damon Christopher Muldrow, Jr., Ahlique Javion Lightly, Dasmanine Elease Muldrow, Da’Niya Nicole Muldrow, Devoney Muldrow, Kenny Jackson, Jr., and Chase Christopher Riley Johnson; and six great grandchildren, Logan, Jovon, Kennedi, Cairo, YiJae, and Yaionna.

In addition, she leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Henry (Carolyn) Cooper; five sisters, Myrtle (Michael) Brown, Linda Cooper, Alberta (George) Plowden, Gracie (Steve) Booker; and a loving and devoted sister who took care of her/caretaker from 2019 until her death, Angela Cooper. and a host of nieces, nephews, and a community of loved ones.
