Mr. Vander McCutcheon, the son of the late Eddie McCutcheon and Alice Bright McCutcheon was born November 27, 1937 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on September 21, 2021.
Mr. Vander McCutcheon joined the United States Armed Forces in 1954 and served faithfully in the Air Force until 1958, where he gained a formal education.
After completing his tour of duty, he relocated to Florence, South Carolina and became employed at McLeod Regional Hospital, as an orderly. He later gained employment as a brick mason for several years before his retirement.
Mr. McCutcheon lived a full rich life without any limitation. He traveled around the world and experienced all the greatness that the world had to offer him. In return, he shared all the greatness he had within him with everyone he came in contact with. He also believed in giving back to charities such as: Billy Graham Ministries, Mercy Ship, St. Jude Hospital, and Wounded War Veterans.
He impacted many lives by sharing the gospel of Christ, his love, kindness, wisdom and knowledge. All he ever wanted was to help others and show them his warm smile. His favorite quote: “I must be doing something right because God keep favoring me.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Alice McCutcheon; five brothers, Lawrence McCutcheon, Glenn McCutcheon, Freddie McCutcheon, Roland McCutcheon, and Eddie Jay McCutcheon, Jr.; and three sisters, Zena Mae Johnson, Sara Lee Lester, and Ruth McCutcheon; and a son-in-law, Rayford Nicholson.
