Willie Adams, Jr.

Mr. Willie “Bunk” Adams, Jr. the son of the late Willie Henry Adams, Sr. and the late Sallie Smith Adams was born September 9, 1935 in Darlington, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the age of 85.

At an early age, he joined Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.

“Bunk” attended Rosenwald High School in Society Hill South Carolina.

He was joined in marriage to Retha Daniels to this union five children were born.

Bunk was dedicated to working the Gary Byrd and the Chapman Farm. Later he was employed by the Fertilizer Mill and worked as a contractor at Rolling Bearing in Hartsville, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Sallie Smith Adams; and three children, Dennis, Larry Adams, and Christine Jackson.

Bunk leaves to cherish his precious memories: three children, Samuel, Sr. (Sandy) Adams, Deborah (Terrence) Adams Palmer, and Carolyn Adams of the home; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; three brothers, James (Pick), Johnny, and Jerome Adams; six sisters, Jannie” Sims Williams, Sarah Adams, Sallie (Henry) Swinney, Chriscile McPhail, Margaret (Robert) Gattison, and Lucretia Lunn; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Family will receive friends at 1200 Plum Branch Road, Hartsville.
